The Fullness of Marriage and Singleness: Ephesians 5:21-33 has been the source of angst and anxiety for churches over the years. What are we to make of Paul's seemingly patriarchal instructions to husbands and wives, especially in light of our modern understanding of gender roles and the repeated stories of abuse we have heard of in Christian marriages? What encouragement is there in this passage for single people in our churches? As outdated as this passage might seem at first glance, it actually is timely and incredibly important for all of us in the community, single and married, as we find our true fulfillment, our true home, our true place to belong in Jesus Christ and his church. Our worship service begins at 10 AM at the Parkdale Cromdale Community League (11335-85 St.) Coffee and prayer begin at 9:30. We look forward to being with you!

Church, Why Bother?
Avenue Church recognizes that many people have been hurt by or have become disillusioned by the church. Many now question its relevance in our society. Avenue Church is imagining what the church could actually be like if we took Jesus at his word. As such, we are seeking to be a community to belong in and a community to serve with.
