Mark 1:1-8 “Origin Story”

Every hero has an origin story - where they came from, what events made them into the hero they are. As we learned last week, Jesus is no ordinary hero and so it shouldn't be surprising that the Gospel of Jesus according to Mark contains an "out of the ordinary" origin story. What's so unusual about Mark's account? The beginning of Jesus' story starts with someone else entirely - John the Baptist, and while this might be unusual, it also has radical implications for us today.
