The Parables of Jesus: Seeds and the Kingdom
After years of oppression and injustice, the people of Israel were ready, desperate even for the promised Messiah to come, to rescue them from their oppressors and to restore their nation, a kingdom that would once again be under the rule of their God.
When Jesus came on the scene, he taught the eager and curious crowds about the kingdom of God. But what they heard was so different than what they expected. Instead of glorious military victories and thrilling political speeches, they heard stories about farmers and seeds. What was going on here? Why was Jesus' message, puzzling as it was, so important? Why is it still important, even revolutionary today?
Please join us this Sunday as we explore in community the parables of the seed and the mustard tree from Mark 4.
