BEING CHURCH

What does it mean to BE church?  This is a question churches all over the world have been asking as the pandemic has forced churches to change and rethink how they DO church.  The answer has differed depending on a church’s particular culture and theology.  In other words, their established practices, and ways of understanding scripture.  To help Avenue church understand what we mean when we talk about BEING church different metaphors for church found in scripture will be explored over the next few months.  What ways of BEING are common to all the metaphors?
