Summer of Psalms: Psalm 73

Psalm 73 gives one of the most transparent confessions of a believer’s inner doubts and struggles. Towards the end of the psalm, we hear an amazing declaration of praise where Asaph, the writer, says that God alone is his best desire, and that God’s strength in him is more sufficient than any other power the world has to offer. As Christians, we know that we’re “supposed” to say that we don’t want anything else more than God, and that we aren’t pulled away towards other desires…but how do we get to this place of confidence that Asaph had? What do you find yourself longing for? How can our lives invite others to see the joy of desiring God more than anything else in a noisy, power hungry world?
