A New Year: Hope (and a Plan) for the Weary

"I can't wait to turn the calendar on 2020. Surely, 2021 has to be better!!!???" If you're feeling this way, let me assure you, you are not alone! 2020 was incredibly difficult for so many reasons and I wouldn't be surprised if most of us find ourselves weary at the end of this exhausting year. And yet, does the simple act of flipping the calendar to a new year guarantee hope? That things will be better? Probably not. We who are weary need a more solid foundation for our hope.

Thousands of years ago, there was a people that had been captured and exiled from their home. Feeling alienated, lost and exhausted, they hoped that there was something more for them, something better. The prophet Jeremiah sent them a letter that contained a plan and a promise from God that would give them a hope and a future.
