One of our congregation members is from Uganda. He recently shared with us an eye-opening and extremely troubling experience he had on his last visit back home. He discovered that there is a huge black hole in terms of awareness and care for children with developmental disabilities in Uganda. Because of persistent misunderstanding, superstition, and a lack of resources, many families of children with developmental and cognitive disabilities are unable to care for them. Tragically, many of these children are abandoned, neglected and left to starve.
Avenue Church is committed to loving its global neighbours. While we work to develop long term partnerships with people on both sides of the ocean, we invite you to help Pastor Wilber and the four children under his care in Kampala.
